Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I’m Angela Zhang from Class 4 Grade 8. Today, my topic is, “The Shanghai World Expo”.

First, I’ll say something about World Expo History. As we know, the very first World Expo, the Great Exhibition of 1851, took place in the Crystal Palace in London. UK. Ever since then, the goals of World Expos have been both high-minded as well as commercial. Visitors are able to explore the world outside of their everyday experience—outside cultures, new scientific advancements, and new inventions. World Expos have excited and inspired more and more people in the world.

On December3, 2002, the Bureau of International Expositions (or call it BIE) announced that Shanghai will host Expo2010. the BIE had received bids from five cities to host Expo2010. Among the 5 nice cities, the BIE chose Shanghai at last! It’s really an exciting news for not only Shanghainese, but also all of Chinese people. Here are some details about it.

Look at this profile carefully. The title is “The 2010 World Exposition ,Shanghai, China ”. this is the logo.
And the theme is “better city., better life”.OK, let’s guess who is the image representative? Yeah, you’re right, Yao Ming!

Shanghai Expo is the first comprehensive World Expo held in a developing country. And it is also the first one that takes “the city” as its theme, hoping that it can push forward the city development and help bring about a better urban living environment, just like the theme: better city, better life.
I think, as a student in Shanghai, we should learn to be a gentle person and keep good manners from now on. And try to practice English more in order to communicate with foreigners fluently in the near future. Because, we’re a part of Shanghai!

man’s life is a proceof growing up, actually i’m standing here is a growth. if a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then i grow up along with these choices. once i hope i can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know i come here, now i wonder what the future holds for (= what will happen to) me. ??

when i come to this school, i told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. following i will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job. ??

once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” i will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these procei will combine learning with doing. if i can achieve this “future”, i think that i really grow up. and i deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future. ??

how to say future? maybe it’s a nice wish. lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

honorable judges, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:

it is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the english language.

about a year and a half ago, i took part in my very first english speech contest. when i stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, i could hardly speak. i stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. my fears had paralyzed me.

while my passion for english has never changed, i lost my courage to speak in public. when my professor again encouraged me to take part in this competition, i said “no.” i couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. he looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. i will never forget his words. “look,” he said, “we all have our fears, and you have yours. you could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. a winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”

i spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. then i made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: i would face my fears – and take part in the competition!

as it turned out, my dear old professor was right. now, here i am, once again standing before a microphone. my heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, i have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

When a fortune-teller look at your palm,she'll tell you how your future will be like.That's a way you place your hope on.But it's not realistic.The future is the things and people around you.What you should do is to try to do everything well,don't care much about the results.Be kind to all the people around you,and love them.Although the world is not full of love,the life is not a bed of rose,you should sdick on your belief.When time passes,you'll find everything you do is worthwhile.

Years is glorious.Because no way you can stop time from elasping.How time flies!Just like the flowers in spring,the sunshine in summer,the moon in mid-autumn and the snow in winter.Maybe one morning you'll never wake up,you'll never see the sunrise or the sunset;you'll never see your sweatheart or talk to her,you'll never hear the sound of the nature or wander on the path among the trees,you'll never swim in the lake or climb the mountains.

Time is gold.Every minute is precious.We should make best use of it.Don't waste even one minute.Spend time in working,in laughing,in playing games and in loving.

Each of us has a kite flying in the sky,and we also have a string each.

Children's kite is childhood,the string is grown.

Lovers' kite is love,the string is daily life.

I have a kite,it is called dream,the string in my hands is reality.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, My name is Liao Yuxuan from Class() Grade(). My topic is how to keep healthy.

Everybody needs a healthy body. It means that we can’t do most of the things without a healthy body. But how to keep healthy, different people have different pionions. According to my personal experiences, there are several ways building a strong body. Firs of all, having a good diet is very important. As I know, many of my classmates do not have breakfast before they go to school. It's a quite bad habit and it's bad for your health. Maybe you don't have time to have breakfast, but you couldn't learn well in your classes if you don't eat anything. So good and regular diet is a necessary thing in our daily life. Therefore, we should know how to have correct diet. In brief, we need to drink eight cups of boiled water everyday and eat all kinds of food, including fresh vegetables and fruits and kinds of meat.

Secondly, physical exercise is an essential part of our life, experts advise us to have physical exercise four times a week. And many people take sports as physical exercise, so we have abundant choices such as swimming, jogging, running, tennis and so on. I always play badminton which is considered a very good form of exercise for people of all ages. After a year of paying badminton, I not only lost weight but also get a stronger body.

Thirdly, making some good friends is also another good way to keep fit. When you have some sorrow, sadness or happiness, you can tell your friends and share with them and you will feel relax and less stressful. In your spare time, you can go out for a holiday together. You will have a good time with them.

Fourthly, Kicking off your some bad habits, liking smoking, drinking alcohol, staying up too late, eating too many candies and so on. It is better to try and give up these things or at least do them less.

Finally, You should ask your doctor for a health check once a year. The doctor will be able to help you spot other problems that you might not have noticed. In other words, health is more important than anything else.
