二 : 兄弟姐妹

在家里，我排行老二，上面有个很会照顾我的姐姐，下面是一个顽皮可爱的弟弟。
姐姐就像妈妈一样的管教我，有时很温柔，有时候很凶，我很听姐姐的话，也喜欢跟她撒娇。弟弟因为年纪小，很听我跟姐姐的话，他要是不乖，我这个当二姐的就可以教训他，直到他肯听话为止。爸爸妈妈是很公平的，对待我们三个人都很好，他们喜欢鼓励我，有时甚至只是因为我胃口好，吃了二碗饭，他们都会跟我说好棒，希望我多吃一点，身体健康。
有时姐姐发脾气把我吓哭后，爸爸会叫姐姐到外头去罚站，这时我对姐姐感到很不好意思，也很感谢爸爸对我的好。遇到我家老三弟弟无理取闹的时候，我会跟老大姐姐合作，一起不理睬弟弟，这是我们姐妹的特技，老三超怕的呢！

It was the night before the compition was due. As I looked at the list of topics (题目) , "The Art of Eating Spaghetti (意大利面条) " caught my eye. The word "spaghetti" brought back the memory of an evening at Uncle Alien' s in Belleville when all of us were seated around the table and Aunt Pat served spaghetti for supper. Spaghetti was an exotic (外来的) treat in those days. Never had I eaten spaghetti, and none of the grown-ups had enough experience to be good at it. What laughing arguments we had about the socially respectable method for moving spaghetti from plate to mouth. Suddenly, I wanted to write about that, but I wanted to put it down simply for my own joy, not for Mr. Fleagle, my composition teacher. As for him, I would write something else.

When I finished it the night was half gone and there was no time left to write a proper com¬position for Mr. Fleagle. There was no choice next morning but to hand in my work. Two days pas¬sed before Mr. Fleagle returned the graded papers. He said, "Now, class, I want to read you a composition, “The Art of Eating Spaghetti'. "

My words! He was reading my words out loud to the whole class. Somebody laughed, then the whole class was laughing with open-hearted enjoyment. I did my best not to show pleasure, but what I was feeling was pure happiness, for my words had the power to make people laugh.

写完作文，夜已过半，没有时间写一篇合适的作文给弗利格尔老师了。没办法，第二天我只能交了那篇作文。两天后，在发作文之前，弗利格尔老师说，“同学们，现在我想给你们读一篇作文，作文的题目是《吃意大利面条的艺术》。”

是我的作文，老师当着全班的面读的是我的作文。一开始，有几个同学笑了，接着大家都敞开心扉，大笑了起来。我强忍着不乐出来，但我感到的是纯真的喜悦，因为我的作文给大家带来了欢乐。
